Locked in and ready for blastoff!

Locked in and ready for blastoff!

It’s late at night but I haven’t posted on our blog FOREVER so I am staying up to say hello to everyone.  (Isn’t that what moms do?  :)   )

Libby is getting so big–two bottom teeth and the next bottom teeth coming in.  She loves to feed herself, walk holding on to someone’s hands and play tag.  It is such a delight to watch her learn.  She knows how to say “bow” and points to her hairbows, “bird” which sounds more like “buh” but she points to the sparrows and robins and rock doves when we go on our daily walks.  Rob and I adore her.  How did Heaven part with this sweet girl?!  We’re glad to get the chance to be her familiy.

Rob’s job is awesome.  I am so completely proud of him earning his degree to provide for our family.  He takes care of us and is so fun to hang out with.  (We saw “Harry Potter” today.  On the scary parts I jumped through the roof!)  Rob is an excellent father and a devoted husband.  I am so lucky to have him!

As for me, I am very content.  I really am.  I think of all the hardships in the world and I make a conscious effort to be grateful for the beautiful life I have with my family.  I’m trying to be the best person I can and spread my happiness to the people around me.  Thank you to friends and family that have helped us and encouraged us in any way.

LIFE is GOOD!!!

(and sleep is important!)

Goodnight!

New Apartment, New Job, and Libby!

20 06 2009

So, A whole lot has changed in the last month, starting with a new apartment.  We now have a place in Cottonwood Heights (east side Salt Lake).  Pictures will follow as soon as the boxes are all unpacked and the pictures are on the wall!  Next is Rob’s job at ARUP laboratories.  He is an Anayltic Biochemist there and is currently getting used to 10 hour days.  The job pays well, but it is tough on Rob because he misses out on Libby.  Speaking of, Here are some cute pictures of the big little one,  Most are from our first trip to the Hogle Zoo.  She loved the black bear the most.  We want everyone in Logan and beyond that you are sorely missed.  Keep in touch all of you!

Hmm, I wonder what Libby has in her mouth this time?

Graduation

7 05 2009

So it finally happened, Rob Graduated!  Libby and I attended the ceremony for the College of Science where Rob walked in his black gown, square hat and gold tassel.  Libby even learned how to clap so she could show she was proud of Dad.  She looked around at all the people clapping and did it herself!  Cute!  All in all, it took our family six years but both Rob and I now have our Bachelor’s degrees!  Quite an accomplishment.

I am so proud of Rob and the field he’s chosen.  I know he is bound for great things.  We are grateful to all the people that have helped us get this far–everyone from babysitters to friends to professors to family!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ROB!!!!

Here are some pics (no that is not Rob with Big Blue, but it is someone Rob knows.  How did they get that hat to stay on Blue’s head?  …That gives a new meaning to the term “bull-headed”.)

Off to Salt Lake (For the New Job)

30 04 2009

So here is the actual announcement, Rob accepted a job at ARUP laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah.  His first day will be June 8th, so we will be moving to Salt Lake during the first week of June.  Rob will be working as an Analytic Biochemist at ARUP, and the company sounds great, this will be a great start to his career as a chemist!   Just thought it was time to tell everyone.

We love you all, and will miss Logan. (but the degree is done, so time to move on right?)

Libby in All Her Cuteness!

21 04 2009

So I know it has been ages since we had a Libby Post, so Here are a few gems from the past couple of months that we needed to show you all.

Libby got one hand on her bow, and she pulled it out…only one problem, it was attached to her head!

What happened to my bow?

Libby’s aunt Lisa lives in Japan, and she sent this great pink kimono…what do you think? Does Libby like pink more than her mom?

Libby Loves her Jumper seat, still learning to actually jump though…

Dad decided to find out just how big Libby’s pants were… She is growing into them.

This is the last time Libby will get to wear the Green dress Dad bought for her…It is now too small

This is one of my favorite pictures of Libby, I think it only fitting that she loves to play with a brush…but her hair is still out of control.  I laugh every time I see this picture.  Isn’t she cute!

This is Libby in the sink…It was cute until she grabbed my toothbrush and started chewing on it!  Well I guess it is still cute, but that is my toothbrush…

Senior Awards Banquet

20 04 2009

So this past week Rob was honored by the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with the American Institute of Chemists Foundation Undergraduate Award in recognition of his demonstrated Leadership and scholastic achievement during out three years here.  Rob will be graduating in two weeks.  More to post then, (I couldn’t help throwing in a couple of pics of Libby at the awards banquet too.)

Libby and Food

10 03 2009

So we know we are slackers, but we still want to post every once and a while.  So here is the latest.  Lillian started the third trimester at North Cache on Monday, last one of the year! She has all new students, so this should be fun. ;) Rob is doing his best to stay motivated through the rest of the semester, but is more apt to apply for jobs than do his homework. :) Libby just had her first cereal experience, which was fun for mom and dad to participate in.  Here are some pictures.

Hello

14 01 2009

Hi all~ Just wanted to say a quick hello.  January is going fine for us and we hope you’re doing well, too.  Libby is super cute and we love being parents.  It’s hard keeping up with everything now and I seem to be tired all the time even though Rob helps where he can!  I appreciate him.  He’s so great with Libby, too.  We have a great life.

Better get back to Libby.

Lil

Libby’s First Christmas

29 12 2008

It has been a really fun break.  We have been spending lots of time with Family and friends.  This has also been a good time for everyone to get to know Libby; they all seemed to love her hair “that does itself”, Mama Severinsen says.  We found that Christmas presents are not very interesting to a three month old, but we tried.  Luckily we didn’t get too many toys and pointless presents…but they were mostly practical (bibs, clothes, etc.).  We did however try to let Libby open some presents.  She can grab the paper, and with some help she can tear it.  She would rather play with the bows than the present inside though.

We hope you had a Merry Christmas with your families and we wish you all the best in 2009.

Love,

The Severinsen Family

Lil’s minute review of Christmas!

29 12 2008

Hello all! Christmas was AWESOME!!  It’s so fun to enjoy the holidays with our little family nucleus and then share the joy with extended family and friends.  (Isn’t it cool how friends can be as close as family?  I am so grateful for all the good people in my life!)  I also appreciate all the people who were focusing on the Birth of the Savior this holiday season because it helped me stay focused and not worry too much that I didn’t have many presents for Rob and our Miss Libby-Meister.  The only reason to worry even a little is that they needed a few things and so it’s nice to give things that they’ll use.

We’re glad we traveled safely–the snow was beautiful but rather abundant!  I am glad to say everyone in our clans traveled safely and arrived with smiles on their faces and hugs ready for the giving.  I think of people who don’t have family, or choose to live alone and I am sorry for their loss; having family and people to love is the most beautiful blessing, the most enriching blessing I can think of.  And although little Libby wakes us up at 3am, 4am, 5 and 6am (hence my post on the blog) we love her and are so happy to take care of her.

Speaking of sleep…g’night!  Happy New Year!

Lil
